BIOG at the "Bauerenhaff an der Stad"

The war in Ukraine and the resulting supply shortages make it clear that regional organic farming offers the best conditions for sustainable and resilient agriculture. The organic farmers' cooperative Lëtzebuerg (BIOG) is striving to expand organic farming in Luxembourg in the course of the organic action plan BIO PAN 2025. Also against this background, the presence at the awareness event "Bauerenhaff an der Stad" organised by the Lëtzebuerg Landjugend a Jongbaueren was important.

Despite the cold weather at the weekend, the event was well attended. Many visitors took up the offer to taste BIOG products such as yoghurt, cheese or hot chocolate. The most popular were the blackberry yoghurt from the BIOG dairy in Bascharage and the aromatic Bauerekéis from the BIOG cheese dairy on the Schanck-Haff in Hupperdange.

During a tour on the Bauerenhaff, HRH Grand Duke Henri also informed himself about the activities of the BIOG dairy farmers and the BIOG range of products in conversation with the Managing Director of the BIOG dairy Volker Manz.

On Friday morning, before the opening to the public, numerous school classes were already able to gain an insight into agriculture through various activities.
